The joint itself is comprised of disc between a ball and socket and it is this disc that cushions the forces on the joint, enabling the jaw to move and function normally.

Gum Disease
Gum disease also known as periodontal disease and periodontitis is an inflammatory condition affecting the tissues surrounding a tooth, and is the leading cause of tooth loss.
Gingivitis is a bacterial infection of the tissues in the mouth and potential precursor of gum disease.

When you smile, do you feel appearance of your upper teeth is overshadowed by excessive gum tissue? Are you of the opinion that your upper teeth appear too short compared to the amount of gingival tissue displayed when you smile? If you answered "yes" to either of those questions, you may have a condition that is commonly called a "gummy smile" or excessive gingival display.
Root canal: What exactly is a RCT?
